The College of architecture and urban planning, established in 2016, is a constituent part of Guizhou Institute of technology. It mainly serves local economy and social development by educating high-quality, application-oriented and talented students. The college contains three major departments: Urban & Countryside Planning and Geography, Environmental Design and Architecture.
The college now has three undergraduate programs, Urban & Countryside Planning and Geography, Environmental Design and Architecture, which began to recruit students in 2016, 2017 and 2020, with 519 students. The college has a high-level and high-quality teaching staff, with 32 Teachers on the job. Among them, there are 1 provincial management expert, 1 provincial government special allowance, 1 provincial young innovative talents, 8 doctors, 4 doctors and 14 master's degrees, 5 professors (senior titles) and 8 associate professors (associate senior titles). Ten experts with industry background are invited as visiting professors, and five part-time teachers are employed.
The college has built eight laboratories, including four hand-painted laboratories, one GIS and planning and Design Laboratory, one model making laboratory and two environmental design professional classrooms (drawing rooms). One design and mapping laboratory and two design professional classrooms (drawing rooms) are under construction. The building physics, building materials, building structure, BIM laboratory and three design studios will be built It is necessary to have three major experiments in the college.
